§ 9-44. Membership; terms of office; Chairperson.

The Committee shall consist of 10 members, one of them to be appointed by the Mayor and who shall reside in the City of New Rochelle; one to be appointed by each of the members of the City Council, who shall reside in his or her Council district, and the City Council as a whole shall appoint two members, each of whom shall have professional experience in a field related to disabilities or community residences. The City Manager shall appoint one member, who shall serve as the Committee Chair. The terms of the individual and collective appointees of the City Council and Mayor shall expire six months after the commencement of each regular City Council term, except that the terms of these appointees shall continue indefinitely after that date until such time as a new appointment is made. The Committee Chair shall serve at the pleasure of the City Manager.
