§ 20-1. Method.

The City Manager is hereby authorized and empowered to cause the settlement of all claims and causes of action for or against the City in the following manner:

A.
Where a claim or cause of action for the City does not exceed the sum of $5,000, settlement in any lesser sums may be made upon the recommendation of the Director of Law and the approval of the City Manager.

B.
Where a claim or cause of action against the City is subject to settlement for $5,000 or less, settlement may be made upon the recommendation of the Director of Law and the approval of the City Manager.
